 Power-based mat selection advice:

• 80–100 W/m² mats are recommended for constant room heating where it is the primary heating method.

• 100–150 W/m² mats are suitable for both regular and occasional room heating, for rooms with standard or increased heat demand, as primary or supplementary heating – such as bathrooms, toilets, hallways, bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, basements, and insulated balconies.

• 150–200 W/m² mats are recommended for high humidity and high heat-demand floors – such as uninsulated basements, garages, balconies, and outdoor stairs.

• On wooden floors, use mats no more powerful than 60–150 W/m².

• Mats above 150 W/m² are not recommended for living spaces such as bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, bathrooms, or toilets, as they heat up faster and reach higher temperatures than standard mats, which may cause discomfort, swelling of feet, fatigue, or other issues.

The mat can be installed in the leveling layer or adhesive layer. The insulation is made of polyamide film with excellent thermal resistance.

Warmset radiant heating is most effective when placed under a leveling compound or directly in the tile adhesive. In this setup, the heating element transfers heat to the surface, which then warms the room through the Joule effect.

In this case, the final flooring is installed directly onto the leveling layer. In recent years, traditional sand-cement screeds have been replaced with anhydrite self-leveling screeds. Within days, a more thermally conductive screed is achieved that retains heat longer without thermal shock. Modern screeds can be just a few centimeters thick, allowing installation of a new floor in only 2–3 cm (including leveling, heating, and final flooring).
