Dry Underfloor Heating System EPS/XPS with Aluminum Foil
The dry heating system is a versatile and highly efficient solution for floor, wall, and ceiling heating applications, suitable for both new-build and renovation projects.
It is particularly recommended for renovations, timber-frame houses, and projects where traditional concrete screeds are limited or not possible. Thanks to its lightweight construction and quick installation, the system provides efficient underfloor heating without wet construction processes.
The insulation panels feature specially designed grooves lined with aluminum foil for easy installation of heating pipes. The aluminum foil covers the entire panel surface, ensuring uniform heat distribution, minimizing heat loss, and improving overall system efficiency. The panels are supplied with pre-formed return bends, making installation fast and straightforward.
Installation Guide
1. Surface Preparation
Panels should be installed on a level, clean, stable, and dry substrate such as concrete, OSB boards, timber flooring, ceramic tiles, or similar surfaces.
If the panels need additional fixing to the substrate, the following adhesives are recommended:
2. Heating Panel Installation
Install the EPS or XPS panels with integrated pipe grooves and aluminum heat-distribution foil.
The heating pipe is pressed into the prepared grooves. At turning points, the aluminum foil should be cut to allow pipe routing.
If the final floor covering or GEORAS TE load-distribution boards are installed directly on top of the aluminum foil, it is recommended to use:
These adhesives ensure reliable bonding to the aluminum foil, improve heat transfer, and prevent unwanted movement between layers during operation.
When installing gypsum boards, gypsum fibre boards, Cetris cement boards, or other rigid load-distribution boards, additional bonding to the aluminum foil is generally not required.
3. Fixing the Top Layer
The fixing method depends on the substrate type and selected floor finish.
When the heating system is installed over OSB boards, timber flooring, or another wooden substrate, the upper load-distribution boards (gypsum boards, gypsum fibre boards, Cetris boards, OSB boards, or GEORAS TE boards) may be:
Where the substrate is concrete, ceramic tile, or another surface that cannot be mechanically fixed, the top layer should be bonded using suitable construction adhesives.
When installing ceramic tiles, load-distribution boards (Cetris, gypsum fibre boards, GEORAS TE boards, or equivalent) should be securely fixed either by screwing to a timber substrate or by bonding to the dry heating system structure.
This ensures sufficient rigidity, load distribution, and protection against cracking or damage during use.

Panel Strength Classes
EPS300/XPS300 (300 kPa) – Suitable for laminate, parquet, and other floating floor finishes. Additional load-distribution boards are recommended for vinyl flooring and ceramic tiles.
EPS400/XPS400 (400 kPa) – High-strength panels suitable for direct installation of vinyl flooring and, in certain cases, large-format ceramic tiles, provided the surface is level, stable, and not exposed to continuous moisture.
In bathrooms, shower areas, and other wet rooms, an additional load-distribution layer and waterproofing system are recommended in accordance with flooring and adhesive manufacturers' requirements.
Important: If there is any uncertainty regarding loads, floor covering type, or substrate stability, an additional load-distribution layer is recommended to maximize durability and protect the heating system.
